What your notice must include
Your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed; the URL of the deck or page so we can locate it; your name, address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and a statement that the information is accurate and that, under penalty of perjury, you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
What we do when we receive it
We review every notice and promptly remove or disable access to material that is properly identified. We tell the user who published it why their content came down and how they can reply.
Counter-notification
If you believe your deck was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notification to the same address with your signature, the material removed and where it appeared, your contact details, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was a mistake. We may restore the material after the statutory waiting period unless the complaining party goes to court.
Repeat infringers
In appropriate circumstances we terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly publish infringing material.
False claims
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing — or that it was removed by mistake — carries liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. §512(f). Please make sure you hold the rights before sending a notice.
